Choreographing MEMPHIS at CFRT!
I am so excited to finally announce that I will be choreographing Memphis at Cape Fear Regional Theater in Fayetteville, North Carolina! We are in the process of finishing casting and will begin rehearsals in Fayetteville in Mid-April. I am grateful for the experience and for Mary Kate Burke (Artistic Director of CFRT) and Suzanne Agins (Director of Memphis) for giving me this opportunity to choreograph this thrilling show.
I am delighted to use my own choreographic voice and see how it will blend with the direction of Suzanne and the story of Memphis. Memphis was one of the first Broadway shows I saw in New York City after I moved there to go to high school at Fiorelle H. LaGuardia High School. I saw it with my mother and remembered how vibrant the dancing was. It was electric and palpable.
After we finish casting in the next few weeks, I will be getting in the studio to do some pre-production and have meetings here and there. If you want daily updates, make sure you are following me on my social media accounts! I upload daily on my instagram (@ellenorescott) and my twitter (@ellenore).
Thanks for checking in! And if you are in the Fayetteville, NC area and want to come see the show, click here to buy your tickets now! Performances are May 9-26, 2019!
