Cats 1st National Tour
Cats is a sung-through musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot. The musical tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as "the Jellicle choice" and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.
Cats first opened in the West End in 1981 and then with the same creative team on Broadway in 1982. As of 2018, Cats is the fourth-longest-running show in Broadway history, and was the longest-running Broadway show in history from 1997 until 2006 when it was surpassed by The Phantom of the Opera. It has been performed around the world many times and has been translated into more than 20 languages.
Cats will be heading out on its 1st National Tour starting January 22nd, 2019. The tour will out until January 2020 with a possible extension. Click here to see tour dates and buy tickets.
